Should Employees Be Able To Keep Gun In Car At Work
March 21, 2008
We have heard this discussion often of late and in Florida once again they are debating a bill that would allow an employee to keep a gun in their car at work provided it is kept locked in the trunk or the glove compartment of their automobile.
News4JAX has a brief story about the proposed bill, SB1130, and quite interestingly they are running a poll to see what readers think of this bill. Here’s what the poll asks.
Should the legislature pass a bill allowing employees to keep a gun in their vehicle on company property?
1. Yes, it’s their constitutional right to bear arms.
2. Only if the employee has a permit to carry a gun.
3. No. It’s the employer’s right to set the rules on company property.
4. I see both sides and haven’t decided.
Go over and participate in the poll offering your thoughts and make sure to check out the results of this poll. You might just find it interesting.

I want to be able to have mine, but I do not trust everyone else to have theirs. I’m sure everyone has someone they work with that they would be concerned about having access to a gun.
There are more lawabiding people in the world (well in Florida anyways) and if all of them carried a gun.
For instantance: When there was a drive by shooting, There are normaly only 2 to 5 perps in the car at a time so all 200 citizians looking on would pull out their guns and turn the car into scrap metal, after a while the perps would run out of cars and they couldn’t drive by any more. (now I was trying to be nice here but you should get my point). And yes there are people that really don’t need to have a gun, but you would get into trouble if they thought you were trying to Profile them.
